October Updates

October is a month of transition for all of us here at Moose Run Golf Course. As many of you are aware, former General Manager Don Kramer took a position as 96th FSS Flight Chief at Eglin AFB and will be greatly missed by all of us here in Alaska. He arrived safely in Florida a few days ago and is looking forward to the many challenges and opportunities of his new position. In the interim, I have been temporarily promoted to Acting General Manager until a permanent replacement has been selected. I look forward to the challenges and opportunities of this position and hope the transition will be as seamless as possible for all of our patrons and staff.

In years past, October has been the transitional month for weather as well; changing from Fall to Winter rather quickly. As of this post, we have yet to have a frost and are looking forward to warmer than normal temperatures for the rest of the month. With that being said, we plan to keep the golf course open for play on regular greens until the snow sticks to the ground. The Golf Shop will remain open during normal business hours 7 days a week until play is suspended. We will close The Grizzly Grill on November 1st to start preparing the Club House for all the upcoming squadron/unit functions and holiday rentals.

I want to personally thank all of our patrons and team members for a successful 2018 golf season. We had an increase in participation in all of our hosted tournaments and will finish the season strong thanks to a beautiful September.

I look forward to a few more weeks of golf and great course conditions.

-Joshua
